I wouldn't object. I have Borland 5.x and couldn't get the makefile to compile. (I tried that because the VC10 has issues too, which I cannot seem to get resolved either.)

In the recently closed curl user survey 2018, 670 curl and libcurl users
submitted information and feedback to us.

Out of those 670 users, not one single user claimed to be using the borland
makefiles to build curl.

I hereby suggest we remove them from the source tree in the name of
simplification and its code that isn't used or maintained.

Anyone against?
