Which method do you use?

If CMake then, example changes which allows me to run partly Perl
script is here https://github.com/snikulov/curl/commit/7ebd4482fc66a64fe00c66c297ee8c9fa6319f1c
The main issue with CMake - out-of-source build and you should point
script not only on source dir, but also on binary result dir.
