First: could you perhaps be suffering from bug #1804, fixed with commit
74dac344b2feb2 [1]? It was a regression in 7.55.1 casued by the same 5113ad04
you pointed out.

If not, just to clarify here: are you using a HTTP proxy or not when you see
this problem?
