Hmm… this is strange since I’ve no problem on my side with the exact same commands (and configure options), on the exact same setup:
* Mac OS X 10.9.2
* Xcode 5.1 (5B130a)
* iOS 7.1 -> iphoneos7.1 (`xcodebuild -showsdks`)
* clang (`xcrun -sdk iphoneos7.1 clang -v`):
* Apple LLVM version 5.1 (clang-503.0.38) (based on LLVM 3.4svn)
* Target: x86_64-apple-darwin13.1.0
* Thread model: posix
* curl-7.33.0 (from the official curl-7.33.0.tar.gz tar ball)
Also, the configure log states that:
checking if socket can be linked... yes
checking if socket is prototyped... yes
checking if socket might be used... yes
...
checking whether time.h and sys/time.h may both be included... yes
checking sys/time.h usability... yes
checking sys/time.h presence... yes
checking for sys/time.h... yes
checking for sys/time.h... (cached) yes
checking whether time.h and sys/time.h may both be included... (cached) yes
checking for sys/time.h... (cached) yes
checking for sys/time.h... (cached) yes
