Very true, and very sad. Google seems to be becoming a bit
microsofty as they mature.

Perhaps a change.org petition would be in order to get google to
become a little more web friendly.

And the google usenet "google groups" interface is even worse.
It not only also encourages top-posting, but encourages overly
long lines, and just butchers quoting, as well.

Feature requests / bug reports haven't done the trick with them;
could a little social media pressure help then clean up their act?
