Argh. I suspect 56b7c87c74d293 might be the culprit as it modified connect
stuff. It might need a little research exactly how the code path goes when it
fails. If you change the VCURL variable in runtests.pl to a separate (working)
curl, you can still run test cases and for example use -g to debug things.

I'm also seeing problems with test 1021 (when ran with valgrind enabled) on my
linux box that I think I should get fixed.
