You're confusing me muchly. You said it worked originally. Now you say "the
error continues". What changed between then and now?

If you get the same problem with curl and your libcurl using application then
the problem might just be in the way you pass in arguments, and it seems to be
that it can't use your key file with the given keyphrase.

Have you verified that it works against that site using that client
certificate with for example the openssl tool?
