We already have a better and more portable fix for that in git since
2011-April-27 thanks to Jeff Pohlmeyer, Guenter Knauf and you ;-)
Commits c33aee1667 and 5b7e1f9efe.

As soon as they upgrade to whatever libcurl version is that includes
those commits, most probably they'll simply drop that patch.
