The documentation says that it would escape everything except alpha
numeric characters. Which is exactly what curl_escape used to do
in an older release of libcurl.

I upgraded libcurl to day and find that curl_escape (and
curl_easy_escape) suddenly no longer escape '.' and '-'
characters.

Is this a bug or is this intentionally?
