I have set NOSIGNAL and - the situation does not seem to happen!

Could you be so kind to eleborate on the implications of using NOSIGNAL?
I am not using the c-ares library as I am trying to keep the environment
as light as possible. I have compiled cURL 7.21.3 with the following:
