Adding it to the Makefile on this line:

curl_LDADD = $(top_builddir)/lib/libcurl.la -lz

to

curl_LDADD = $(top_builddir)/lib/libcurl.la -lz -lrt

fixes it. Still, I would think that would be automatically determined.
