unresolved external symbol impcurl_easy_strerror referenced in function _main

Hi,

I'm using VC9. When I try to look to libcurld.lib I see:
unresolved external symbol __imp__curl_easy_strerror referenced in
function _main

When I use the _imp version, linking works fine.
I've compiled libcurl myself. Does anyone know what went wrong?
