Trying to compile libssh2 for the sftp.

looks like the configure goes fine but get error when doing a make

Make: Must be a separator on rules line 742. Stop.

If I use gmake i get:
ld: Unknown input file type: "../../src/.libs/libssh2.so"
Fatal error.
gmake[2]: *** [ssh2] Error 1
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/Cary/libssh2-1.2.2/example/simple'
gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/Cary/libssh2-1.2.2/example'
gmake: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Any help would be appreciated.
