Build it yourself, its easy to get started:

1) Download http://curl.haxx.se/download/curl-7.19.7.zip and
uncompress it to a nwe folder
2) Open curl-7.19.7\vc6curl.dsw with VS2008
3) Allow VS2008 to update all projects and workspaces.
4) Save ALL and close VS2008
5) Open curl-7.19.7\vc6curl.sln with VS2008
6) Select batch build, check 'all' projects and click 'build' button.

The release static library will be in the curl-7.19.7\lib\LIB-Release
subdir and the debug static library will be in the
curl-7.19.7\lib\LIB-Debug subdir.

Then you can start readeing docs and mail list archives.
