phil: i liked some parts of the ellerman's draft, i'll take a deep look into it later to see if it lacks anything.

daniel: i do use nntp and would like to stop using a php implementation, so instead of making my own php extension with it i'd like to add it into curl.

thought: it should be posible emulate keep-alive somehow (it could be too expensive to authenticate on every message request)
