Nobody has said anything about it at least, and I'm not even aware of anyone
particularly asking for it.

But to me the primary question is: is there an established/set URI/URL syntax
for the protocol? That's basically the main requirement we need on a protocol
for inclusion since we are still making a library that transfers data
specified as URLs (or possibly URIs but let's not say that since that makes
our name less fine! ;*).

I found some NNTP URL references in RFC1738. Is that the style you were
thinking of using?

Out of curiousity, what's the purpose for which you want/need nntp in libcurl?
