It was probably caused by my attempts to eliminate memory leaks while using
the PEM reader. Sorry for inconveniences.

The patch seems ok to me.
FYI there have been some bugs within the PEM reader causing these memory
leaks. I think only Fedora is affected though. We are currently working
on updates for curl and nss packages fixing the memory leaks. Additional
