However the case is, I doubt you'll find your answer here and now.

Let me elaborate a bit:

The python binding pycurl has its own web site, its own mailing list and it
seems to be used by a couple of fairly well-used apps, so I figure it'll make
sure the binding is kept somewhat fine.

The perl binding has always been maintained somewhere else. I don't know of
any mailing list for it and the only web site/docs for it I know of is the
cpan.org one. The impression I've got is that the perl binding hasn't had any
particularly sized audience/user base or community around it. Of course, me
being a libcurl guy I *love* seeing that the bindings get used and I want
nothing else than to have them all strive and be successful.

I personally know next to nothing about either one's specifics so I can't help
you on your questions as I don't think they apply to the underlying libcurl.
