Is /usr/local/lib in your lib path? (IF this is on Linux, check
/etc/ld.so.conf and/or /etc/ld.so.conf.d depending on vendor)
You can also try setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH temporarily to /usr/local/lib
to see if the library searching is the problem.
