Very true. But most of those functions were added a very long time ago and
we've gone a far way since then and we're now much more reluctant to add
utility functions that are adding stuff already possible to do or that aren't
core libcurl functionality.

When we discuss adding new things to the library we must talk about and see
the usefulness and virtues about that particular new feature/function for
libcurl at this moment in time. Arguing about what we did in the past won't
help for this.
