Okay, I did build for OpenSSL, GnuTLS and NSS to verify, and I did it with
ipv6 and ipv4 and some other variations, so most of it should work.

I committed the whole lot now, so please cvs update and have a go at it and
see if I broke anything major.

The version number for the next release is now going to be 7.17.0 since I
think the modified treatment of strings in curl_easy_setopt() is of a somewhat
bigger nature so that it deserves a minor number bump.
