I'm new to this list.
I'm a student of Online-Media from south germany.

I want to use curl to post data to a server-side script over a ssl
connection.
Everything works fine using curl. Then I tested the transfer using
wireshark to verify that the data is encrypted.
In Wireshark I can see that an ssl-connection is established, but I also
can see the following message:
"TLSv1 Record Layer: Encrypted Alert"
The problem was also reported in:

My questions:
- what does that mean. Is the tranfer of the data encrypted or not?
- How does curl behave in situations where curl can't establish a
ssl-connection? Does the connection fail or does it use an non-encrypted
connection?
