We did that with c-ares mainly because we found no other decent alternative.

I'm hoping the existing SSH libs are in a better situation than the resolver
libs were back then. But yeah, I'm not afraid of patching or altering an
existing solution should I need to, but I really want to avoid forking another
project for this to work.
