Why isn't is possible for the vendors to get the current stable
version from the developers?

It's the same problem as on redhat, debian and some other distributions

If a user wan't to use some new feature from the current stable version
then he must compile it for him self :-(

Sorry but from my point of view the vendor should have qs-checks an if
the new version pass it then the vendor should add/change the current
stable version to the dist.
