Thanks for testing out and reporting the further details.

I can repeat your crash on test 253 when I simply don't use both
--enable-debug and --disable-shared. Using either one of those makes the tests
run fine!

Grrr. Anyway, I'm on the case.

It only enables using valgrind when you build with a static libcurl, as
otherwise it doesn't work properly since it only tests src/curl shell script
then!
