First, I want to add my company ATX (www.atxinc.com) to the list that uses
libcurl in production. We use libcurl in our software so that the customer
can connect to our server to update the software.

Here is now a real question quoted from one of our customer:
"Our proxy architecture is setup based on forwarding first-layer proxy
servers on to a master set of proxies which make the actual connections.
The site does not work on the first layer of proxy servers used for our
tax field clients, but does work on our master proxies.

The first layer is simply a whitelist of acceptable sites. We have added
the following urls to this whitelist and can access the base site, but the
test for the application fails.

atxinc.com
atxmax.com
atxpros.com

It looks like the application is having issues with the forwarding layer."

The clients who connect to the first-layer proxy cannot access our servers
using libcurl (through both ftp and http), but the clients who connect to
the master proxies can. Do I need to configure proxy for libcurl? Right
now I do not touch anything related to proxy in my application, because I
do not know whether my clients use proxy or not, or how many layers they
have. Neither do I know how to configure proxy for libcurl if this is
really required. Please give me some advice. Thank you.

What You Can Do To Help!

Hi

I thought I'd just post a friendly reminder of a few simple things *you*
can
do to help the curl project:

o Tell us about your company that uses libcurl, or a product that is
using
    libcurl. (That isn't already listed.)

o Run autobuilds (my own Solaris tests are currently down since a disk
crash). They provide a _very_ useful resource to developers of
(lib)curl
and help us remain portability and statiblity. The more builds we get,
the
more platforms that are covered, the better we'll test curl and thus
we'll
find more problems and create a better product.

o Respond to mailing list posts and bug tracker entries you know the
answer
to. If more people respond and are active on the lists and tracker,
there
will be less burden on any single individuals.

o Run a web/download mirror. We have numerous mirrors in Germany and
USA, but
we could use a few more in other areas/countries/continents.
