I am sorry it has taken me so long to follow up on this,
I thought that reason why it wouldn't work for me was
that the msys SDK still has perl 5.6.1, so I have been
trying to get the tests working with perl 5.8, either
from ActiveState or compiling it myself, but I am
afraid I have failed miserably.

Still, I see that test 31 now works fine in Windows, so
I started adding the 'mode=text' to the tests that need it,
but found that many of them, like 75, don't have a
<file name ...>

So, what can I do with these tests?

Also, sws doesn't compile right now because,
win32_cleanup is declared twice in 'util.h'.
