Re: Upload is much slower then download

Here are the results:
The upload/downloads through an ftp connection are
twice as fast if I make them from a Windows 2000
machine as If I do them from a Mac. The tests were
done with Windows Commander on win and CuteFTP/Finder
on Mac. The finder can only download through ftp so I
could test only upload with it.
I find this results interesting and confusing(for a
55Mb folder with 8 files):
 - Working on Windows: to Win from Mac took 27sec
 - Working on Mac: to Win from Mac took 42sec

 - Working on Windows: to Mac from Win took 12sec
 - Working on Mac: to Mac from Win took 22sec

It seems from this results that Mac transmits twice as
slower then it reads through ftp. In the saem time, it
does ftp read/write almost twice as slower then a
Windows machine.

I have an app on Windows which does the same thing as
my app on Mac with the same server. On windows,
upload/download has the same speed. The win
application does not use curl. On the Mac, the upload
is approx. 3 times slower.
I know that on other networks and other Macs the
results are the same.

Could it be that some network settings should be
adjusted on my Mac?

The ftp and http servers are on the same network with
my computer.
