Scott Cantor just posted this suggestion[1] in the feedback section of the web
site, and I could use some comments from windows-using people:

"Just thought I'd suggest something that I end up having to do anytime I grab
a new release and prepare it for use. On Windows, it's a really good idea to
have separate DLL and internal lib names for the debug and release builds."
