Ok, then let's go for it. I'm ready for a patch. Please also consider
providing a man page for the new function!

Just for info: I might release a 7.11.2 before this function is officially
added, since I believe we have a fair share of bugs that can be released
before we added new functions. I then aim at releasing a 7.12.0 with the
alread added curl_*_strerror() (plus the new curl_memory_callbacks() or
whatever the exact name will be) functions etc.

BTW, (unrelated to this issue) I was under the impression that I would get
some help to improve the strings returned by the new curl_*_strerror()
functions...
