I think I agree on the conclusion that there is little benefit with doing

Reducing the amount of warnings is an ever-going task, so yes, I would
appreciate such a patch.

Please make sure that you do it against CVS or a recent snapshot since we've
fixed numerous since 7.11.0. Also keep in mind that curl is built on a wide
range of different systems with different characteristics.
