The httpput.c example source has no URL specified, so the problem wasn't
really present in the example code. Anyway, I've now added a comment that
specificly says that the URL needs a file part, so that others won't get into
the same problems as you!

There are some basic bindings for running libcurl with java, yes. But for
Java-people that's like swearing in a church, as they claim things like that
should be made with pure java code...
