Dear Rick,

I did find curl via software.hp.com as you described and got as far as
downloading it but before I got a chance to install it I got this message
for TWW:

<<
Oops. I guess we shouldn't have deleted OpenSSL 0.9.6e.
I just uploaded curl-7.10.4 which depends on OpenSSL 0.9.7b.
         Please try that instead.

So I downloaded this and installed in place of the previously installed
version of cURL and it now appears to be working correctly.

Now the fun bit of learning to drive it begins ;-)

thanks __daavid
