I think its time for some serious error-tracking.
Are you using a proxy when you use your normal browser? Can you *really* do
'telnet that.host.com 443' to connect to the machine that curl doesn't? Or
even just 'nslookup that.host.com' ?
I find it very weird that all those versions should have that huge errors in
the name resolving code, and no one else before reported any such errors...
