I just wanted to share this information with you and thanks for the nice library being provided. I am developing a test tool (Vaayu) for generating attacks to test Intrusion detection systems detection capability. Vaayu parses the Snort rules files to build attack tree and inserts the attack signatures in packet payloads. Vaayu can currently generate HTTP, ICMP and UDP traffic. It also sends shellcode's for various architectures in HTTP and UDP payloads.

I am using Curl library for opening HTTP sessions. We are also planning to extend to use FTP and other protocols Curl supports. It can be found at http://www.geocities.com/latha_lkris
