Does the connection go through a proxy?
I had a problem when i was connecting through a proxy.It used to hang till the connection timedout.I found a solution --to disconnect once i read the number of bytes specified in the content-length header.

No, it shouldn't.

I don't. Curl doesn't care about content-length headers.

I've never seen this happen. I don't think this is because it is a IIS4
server, I think there's something else that causes this failure.
