The curl site has lots of documentation, both in man page format and
otherwise.

But if you feel like writing additional documentation or providing the
existing docs in new/more formats, by all means please do!

The error codes (I think) you refer to are the error codes that the C API
uses. Hence, they are documented in the section for the libcurl C API. And
look, they're even in the menu on the C interface index page:

I'm sorry, but I don't see how that is badly placed or documented.
