No response from some https pages.

Hello,
When I connect using CURL from an http page with PHP 5.16, I get no
response from some https pages. I can connect to google over http and
https, but on other sites, I can connect to http but not https. Using
the same code on another server with PHP 5.6, I don't have any
connection problems. Is this a problem with PHP 5.16? Is there any way
around it?
