Looks good, though have you tried putting the php tags inside html
tags in a .php file?
Such as :
<html>
<head></head>
<body>
<?php
$remote = fopen("http://127.0.0.1/my_site/DailyComics.cgi", "r");
fpassthru($remote);
?>
</body>
</html>
