Ah, the problem is solved. mod_chroot mailing list came to the rescue.
I wanted to post this in case anyone else has this problem. It was
related to my urandom in the jail. I created it with 1,8 entropy and
should be 1,9. Such a small error, with large consequences. Changing
this immediately fixed everything.
