The segfault is happening in the apache error_log, so it seems like it's
that which is segfaulting.

I've definitely had a similar problem in the past with php/curl
segfaulting - which is the reason for the SSL options being in the curl
handler in the first place.

I guess that this is a configuration problem somewhere because there
arent any problems on our other server which has the same versions of
everything installed - I'm just not sure what's causing the segfault.
