does cURL do a rDNS lookup or verification?

if it does is there a way to turn that off??

I've got HostnameLookups OFF and
 curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0);
   curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0);
