Authorize.Net doesn't support connections from any versions of libcurl prior
to 7.9.5. With my Authorize.Net module for X-Cart (available at
killersoft.com), I've talked with several other Authorize.Net customers
who've had this same error, and that is the response they consistently get
from Auth.Net tech support.

So - upgrade to a more recent libcurl, recompile your PHP, and you'll be all
set.
