Actually, this project will be ported to Linux when it goes live. Its just
that my development machine is win and the html/php/etc editor I like to use
is Win. Guess I'll just go ahead and build my Linux box.

I had exactly the same problem a couple of months ago
- after much digging, and a little looking at
interactions between processes I found the most viable
solution was to install RedHat7.1 and download and
compile everything as per

http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/php/install.html

Win32 support for all of the open-source stuff I've
been playing with is much less detailed than the
support you get for Linux.

With Gnome installed you might not even notice the
difference...
