AW: now to HP-UX 10.2

_But_ for me it only works with apache & mod_ssl so maybe there indeed is a
dependency.
As said I had the same situation: console worked, https via PHP on apache
without SSL didn't. Now (patched PHP, apache with SSL) it does. So I'd guess
that PHP somehow needs mod_ssl to do https requests... maybe it uses a
function there.

After all recompiling Apache to use SSL is not that time consuming so I'd
just try that.

We did do the -lssl bit.

Funny thing is we tried just compiling a php binary (not as an apache
module) because we intend to use this for batch scripting. I am not sure
the stand alone binary should have any interaction with apache, thus having
a requirement for mod_ssl. Does that make sense to you?
