the "-lcrypto -lssl" is definitively not working under suse wth curl-7.29.0:

$ LIBS='-ldl' ./configure --prefix=/ae/curl --with-ssl=/ae/curl --enable-static --disable-shared --disable-manual --disable-lber --disable-ldap --disable-nls --enable-ipv6
$ grep lssl Makefile src/Makefile
Makefile:LIBCURL_LIBS = -lssl -lcrypto -lcrypto -lssl -ldl -lz -lrt -ldl
Makefile:LIBS = -lssl -lcrypto -lcrypto -lssl -ldl -lz -lrt -ldl
src/Makefile:LIBCURL_LIBS = -lssl -lcrypto -lcrypto -lssl -ldl -lz -lrt -ldl
