How to use RTSP with cURL command line tool?

I have recently installed cURL on my Linux machine and I am wondering how I make RTSP requests with cURL through the command line (SSH). Doing: curl rtsp://urlhere seems to do nothing. It gives no error, but also no acknowledgement of anything having happened. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
