Yes the -v is just for verbose. We are simply testing that we receive a
http 200 OK message back from the firewall. Hoping to capture that
message in an output file. Of course when we use > in windows, we only
see the curl commands

I'm not aware that ever was any such problem...

So what does -v show? I'm guess you're getting a redirect or other content
without any response body.
