Nope, it just took some time to appear it seems.

Yeah, but there's more to those numbers than what you can spot in the progress
meter output. Although I must admit I can't explain that jump right now off
the top of my head.

I'm not sure I understand the question. The speed is calculated once every
second. In a modern PC that calculation will be significantly faster than a
hundredth of a second.
