libcurl.so.3 is a really old version; that last libcurl that generated a
libcurl.so.3 was version 7.15.5 which is a couple of years old. If you're
compiling the application, too, then there's an excellent chance it will
still work with the latest libcurl. If you need to satisfy a binary
dependency, then you can choose an appropriate 7.15.5 source package
from http://curl.haxx.se/download/, for example
http://curl.haxx.se/download/curl-7.15.5.tar.gz
